The President said the changes were made possible by the significant reduction in Covid-19 hospital admissions across all provinces, which had reduced the pressure on beds and hospital personnel.
Liquor traders have welcomed the decision to lift the third ban on alcohol sales by President Cyril Ramaphosa in his televised address to the nation on Monday evening following pleas to government for urgent intervention in order to save the struggling industry.
Ramaphosa announced that the sale of alcohol by licensed premises for off-site consumption will be permitted from Mondays to Thursdays from 10am to 6pm. Alcohol sales by licensed premises for on-site consumption such as restaurants and taverns will also be permitted throughout the week from 10am to 10pm.

Pretoria - The new curfew and the lifting of the ban on the sale of alcohol will boost and save struggling businesses in the restaurant and hospitality sector.
Chairperson of the Tshwane Tourism Association Bronwen Cadle de Ponde said these economic sectors needed this relief if they were going to survive the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy.
She said many restaurants and hotels were already hard hit and needed some positive news to prepare to save jobs, especially because a lot of businesses like restaurants generated most of their revenue from the sale of alcoholic beverages like wine.

HOUSTON – A San Antonio brewery has been named the best in the U.S. by Hop Culture Magazine.
According to Hop Culture, it was Weathered Souls’ resilience amid the coronavirus pandemic that earned it the top spot on the list.
Last June, the brewery launched its “Black Is Beautiful” initiative with a mission to bring “awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily,” Hop Culture reports.
The initiative encouraged other breweries to create an imperial stout recipe to raise awareness of social and racial injustice.
According to San Antonio Current, 1,200 breweries, representing all 50 U.S. states and 22 countries have taken part in the initiative.

Just in time for the big game next weekend, the always growing Brickell neighborhood is getting its first brewery:
EST. 33 Thai Craft Brewery and Kitchen (701 South Miami Avenue), marking the Thailand-based brand’s first U.S. location.
Owned and operated by Boon Rawd Brewery Company Limited, which produces Singha and Leo beers, the space boasts seven fermentation vessels in addition to seven serving tanks that create beers like the light and golden Legend Lager, the Vienna-style One and Only Kopper, the summer wheat Aromatic Snowy, and the namesake 33 Pale Ale.
EST. 33 Thai Craft Brewery and Kitchen features a full menu as well created by executive chef Oliver Lustado, who combines Asian flavors with techniques of American barbecue. Think dishes like steamed buns filled with lemongrass chicken or Thai-spice rubbed beef brisket, beef jerky, crispy pork cracklings, red curry crab croquetas, broccolini, and more.
Danielle Collinsworth’s positive, perky attitude woke me right up. She suggested a mantra of confidence to carry throughout our practice and the rest of our day. She even had us raise one leg into the air and trace the letters to spell “confidence” with our toes.
“It’s OK if you don’t remember how to spell it,” she said, because the intention is what matters in the practice of yoga.
Collinsworth’s outlook has helped her get through the coronavirus pandemic while plans for her business crashed and new opportunities presented themselves.
Collinsworth had the idea of a coffee shop plus yoga studio in her mind for years before Sky’s the Limit came to life in 2017.
